Mussoorie is a hill station and a part of Deradun of the North India State Uttarakand. Mussoorie is a municipal area and is 35 kms from Dehradun which is the capital of Uttarakand. It is 290 kms from New Delhi, the capital of India. Mussoorie lies on the foothill of Garhwal Himalayan Ranges. Mussoorie is also known as queen of hills. Mussoorie have a wide range of peculiar types of Flora and Fauna. The name Mussoorie is derived from “mansoor”, which is a ’ shrub’- commonly found in Mussoorie. Mansoorie is the another name of the place. The main promenade in Mussoorie is called Mall, the Mall stretches from Picture Palace at its eastern end to the Public Library. In the British Period the mall was expressly stated “Indians & Dogs Not Allowed”. This rule was deliberately broken everyday by Motilal Nehru, the father of Jawaharlal Nehru and would pay the penalty charges. The Nehru family were frequent visitors to Mussoorie. In 1960, the first Tibetan school was established in Mussoorie. In Happy valley of Mussoorie 5000 Tibetans are settled. The highest point is Lal Tibba, at a height of about 7500 ft. Lal Tibba is now also used to describe a lovely lookout point, a short distance from the actual peak.

This unique institute is just 2 km away from Gandhi Chowk. Mussoorie is an undulating tree covered hill in the doon valley. It has a mindblowing view of the great Himalayas.
